Description
The next illustration for a text about the past of our (German) Zelda RPG "Zelda Chronicles".
It's the second of three pictures for the text "Hyrulean Civil War" (though the term in the German version can be translated into English as "Hylian War"; unfortunately this was unknown when we wrote the texts, so we called the events "Territory Wars" then xD). The first is from LinaFleer, whom we could convince to do some artwork for us (what a luck), and can be seen here - I tried to imitate the style, of course, what may explain the differences between the new piece and the older ones. ^^
Quite figuratively, it shows how the Gerudo causes the origin of the actual Hyrulean Civil War: By sowing the seeds of discord among the Hylians (who already has been displeased with some other issues according to our story), goading them on against each other and the king, what leads into a rebellion - one part demands an intervention in the war between Gorons and Zoras, the other part wishes to keep neutral. Link's father tells his wife and mother-in-law about the occurrences in a comic in the special edition #9 of the German magazine Club Nintendo (on the page here - at least a short extract is translated here). The Deku Tree Sprout refers to the war in OoT once.
The picture has been quite easy and fast to make and a fun to draw. Comments are welcome. *g*
On the brink ... main reference was the prologue of "The Wind Waker", the background texture is from croix22 (though the account is deactivated ...). The worn out looking lines are the result of experimentation with filters and layers in Photoshop. The picture is from August 2012 and took me (surprisingly) only one night.
